This is the easiest recipe for anyone looking to start their weight loss to get healthy. Some of you would have tried this recipe. It is famous as "Besan Chilla". It's made from grams of flour, or chickpea flour, or besan, as you call it.
Besan has 38% protein and 20% carbohydrates. In terms of protein and carbohydrate ratio, it is much better than the rest of the flours. You can also try besan waffles, read here.
This recipe only takes 5 minutes of mixing and 5-10 minutes of cooking time. We posted a similar mung bean pancake recipe here.
Let's start doing …
Gram flour (besan) pancake recipe | High Protein Recipe India
- 1 medium onion
- 1 green cold
- 1 cup of besan – makes 4 pancakes
- Pinch of red chilli powder and salt
Chop the onion and green cold.
Add them besan along with salt and red chili powder.
Add water so that the consistency is such that it can be easily poured onto the pan. A word of caution here, you need to mix mizzen properly as it will form lumps.
Heat the pan for 5 minutes and add a few drops of oil. You can use a coated pan if you are not an expert in cooking. Use a spatula or bowl to spread the mixture over the pan.
Flip the pancake over when it's slightly brown (read cooked).
Tadaaa, the pancake is ready :).
P.S – I'm not a culinary expert, so no excuse for missteps 😉
You can add any green leaves like spinach or methi to make it healthier.
Use it as a bun by curling up grated paneer / cottage cheese or salads.
