How to solve the two biggest health and fitness problems most women face.

Here's what women often want when they start working with us, and some ways you can get started right away.

Wish No. 1:
"Help me have a better relationship with food."

At some point in their lives, many women struggle with overeating and emotional eating. We love our wine, our chocolate, our sugar or whatever our "I deserve this" or "I need a damn break" treat is … but they don't always love us back.

As soon as the "food frenzy" subsides, we have the same stress and problems that we started with – and now we feel guilty, ashamed, and maybe even out of control.

The cycle often looks like this.

  • Feel stressed, anxious, upset, etc.
  • Too many food.
  • Feel guilty and ashamed of overeating.
  • Feel stressed, anxious, upset, etc.
  • Vows to do better.
  • Go on a new diet and / or make strict “rules”.
  • Feel stressed, anxious, upset, etc.
  • Too many food.
  • Repeat the cycle.

(Believe me, I was there.)

Solution: Exercise "break chain".

Just watch, observe and note what happened, which led to food cravings, emotional eating, overeating and / or other times when you feel "out of control" while eating and eating.

Because here is a secret:

These feelings and behaviors were no accident. They are not accidental. Something led to them.

Now you become a detective and find out all the links in the chain.

Download a printable version of our break the chain exercise, or consider the following exercise to put this exercise into practice.

1. Start with a recent episode related to eating or eating that worried you. (For example, overeating, eating foods you didn't want, feeling out of control, etc.)

2. Write down all the things that happened around you just before this episode.

For example:

  • Where were you?
  • What did you do?
  • What did you think you were doing?
  • What did you feel
  • Who was with you?

3. Now see if you can go back further.

Maybe a couple of hours. Once again:

  • Where were you?
  • What did you do?
  • What did you think you were doing?
  • What did you feel
  • Who was with you?

Try to capture as much detail as possible.

4. Now look at your data. Are there any patterns?

If you don't see any connections right away, don't worry.

Try this exercise a few times and then look for relationships between events in the days or hours before you had a serious craving for food or an emotional eating episode.

5. If you find patterns, be curious about them.

Don't worry about fixing them right away. Just pay attention to them.

"Hm, that's interesting. Every time my mother calls me, I want to drink the chocolate afterwards."

"You know, I feel good most of the month, but the week before my period starts – watch out."

"It was a long, stressful work week. Give me the wine before I stab someone."

6. You may notice solutions immediately.

"OK, I'm going to exercise after talking to mom to get some of that energy."

"I will mark my PMS days on the calendar so that I know them in advance."

"I will go home on Friday to relax."

Or you may not notice any solutions. You may feel stuck at step 5 and notice the patterns, but are not sure how to change them.

In any case, that's fine.

The most important thing is: Now you know what is happening.

Wish No. 2:
"Help me adapt to my diet, exercise or healthy lifestyle."

If you're like most women, you've probably tried at least a few things to stay in shape.

Most women tried the following before getting results with us:

  • Weight watchers
  • MyFitnessPal and other calorie counters
  • Jenny Craig and curves
  • Crossfit and other group training
  • Popular diets like paleo, juice fasting, cleansing and low carb
  • Training books and magazine articles

Of course, these options are not "bad". In the end, they work for some people.
